The Comfort of a Plush
Photo, courtesy of my sister, Nicole Rene Photography Found here http://nicolerenephoto.com/ I have always had a passion for art with a focus on animation. It started with drawing Pokemon when I was seven and flourished once I was introduced to a broader array of the anime culture through friends. I studied under a family friend that taught me traditional acrylic art until high school where I had the opportunity to take animation classes for three years. Since then I have been teaching myself new styles and methods of digital art. I am a graduate, now taking on the next step in my life as a full time mother. I previously worked at a social justice center that inspired me to start writing a comic for The Queery. The Queery, published once per year, is a predominantly student-written magazine focusing on LGBTQ, Queer, and Ally issues and identities. After working in such spaces I have learned the power and joy people have with art. I passionately want to share the joy with others and grow myself in the process. |
